Measuring in Inches
In science class you typically learn to measure in metric units of measurement like centimeters and millimeters. In this class and in most trades like construction you will find that we use inches to measure. Measuring in inches can seem complicated but it's really not all that hard once you get over your fear of fractions!
I am a very spatial person. Measuring to me isn't so much about reading or reducing fractions but about identifying the different length lines found on a ruler or tape measure. This video will break down the concept so you better understand it.
In class we will do an activity where you take a piece of paper and fold it into an inch. Then you can use it as a cheat sheet to help you practice and learn to measure.
